WealthBuilder Biblically Responsible Investing (BRI) Portfolios
Purpose driven investing.
“The plans of the diligent lead to profit as surely as haste leads to poverty.” Proverbs 21:5 (NIV)
The WealthBuilder Biblically Responsible Investing (BRI) Portfolios are investment strategies that align Christian values and principles outlined in the Bible with investing. The core idea is to ensure that the investments do not support activities or companies that contradict Christian moral teachings and ethics.
The portfolios aim to exclude investments in companies that violate basic biblical principles, such as abortion, human exploitation, sexuality, cannabis, alcohol, tobacco, and gambling, while seeking to maximize risk-adjusted returns for investors.
Most of the ETFs in the portfolio are from Inspire Investing. Inspire is a leader in BRI Investing.
To help us stay true to biblical principles, MRA Advisory Group donates 10% of the net profits from managing BRI portfolios to Christian charities.

The Growing Appeal
Over the past few years, BRI has gained traction as investors increasingly seek ways to ensure their financial activities reflect their faith. Tools and resources have emerged to help investors identify companies that align with biblical values, facilitating the growth of this niche investment strategy.
Challenges and Criticisms
Defining Ethics: What constitutes “biblically responsible” can vary significantly among Christian denominations and individual believers, leading to different interpretations and implementations in investment strategies.
Complexity in Implementation: Some argue that complete adherence to BRI is complex in a globalized economy where many companies have multifaceted operations with varying adherence to ethical practices.
Implications
BRI represents a unique intersection of faith and finance, allowing Christians to express their religious values through investment choices. However, it invites questions regarding the scope and application of biblical principles in modern business contexts and how they are balanced with financial returns.

Key Principles of Biblically Responsible Investing
Alignment with Biblical Values: BRI seeks to harmonize investment portfolios with the Scriptures. This involves avoiding investments that engage in businesses promoting alcohol, tobacco, gambling, adult entertainment, or other activities deemed sinful or immoral according to biblical teachings.
Positive Impact and Stewardship: BRI encourages investments in companies that contribute positively to society, emphasizing stewardship and responsibility. This might include supporting businesses that promote environmental sustainability, respect human rights, engage in fair trade, and contribute to community welfare.
Ethical Engagement: Investors involved in BRI often engage with companies to promote more ethical behavior and practices, advocating for governance that aligns with Christian ethics in areas like fair labor practices, transparency, and integrity.
Long-term Perspective: Reflecting the biblical wisdom that encourages foresight and planning, BRI promotes a long-term perspective in investing, prioritizing sustainable growth and ethical governance over short-term profits.
